US President Trump has hinted that the number of U.S. coronavirus mortalities could reach 100,000, while describing the country’s response to the crisis so far “successful.”
The president said in a Fox News town hall on Sunday evening:
“We’re going to lose anywhere from 75, 80 to 100,000 people. That’s a horrible thing. We shouldn’t lose one person out of this.”
At the moment, US Coronavirus Cases have reached about 1,192,216, with 68,715 deaths and 178,581 recoveries
Italy, one of the worst hit countries by the pandemic took a giant leap and began to reopen on Monday, with over 3 million people returning to work and some factories resuming activities.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte wrote on Facebook:
“A new page is beginning, and we will have to write it together with faith and responsibility,” emphasizing that strict social distancing will still be observed
